Statement about our support website and the current state of Technic

Hi everyone, Pyker here. We have learned, today (2024-09-13), through one of our Discord server members, that our support website (https://support.technicpack.net/) wasn't working properly. At first glance, it appeared that our ZenDesk account had been deleted. Upon further investigation, and after obtaining access to an email account that no one had accessed in years, we discovered that ZenDesk had received a chargeback from our bank, and had given us 30 days to fix the situation, or they'd delete our account and associated data. Since we never saw the email, we were never aware of the problem. Those 30 days then passed, and they did good on their warning, and deleted our account and data, notifying us of such. We'll post the modpack guides at another location (undefined for now), but the rest of the data in that support website is unfortunately gone.

It's unknown to me why the chargeback happened. Recently, perhaps in the same time window, we received an email from GitHub, about a chargeback that was submitted to them, from our payment processor, that we thankfully were able to resolve, since our contact information for that account was correct.

The only explanation I have, is that, due to changes in either the bank or Technic's card, the bank started sending out chargebacks for payments that were done recently.

Again, that's the only explanation that I have. I'm completely in the dark about any of Technic's financial matters. Technic is currently comprised of essentially 2 people: me (Pyker), and KakerMix (the founder). KakerMix is the only person who has any access to any of Technic's finances and, over the past few years, has shown a demonstrable lack of interest in the project that he created, leading to decay and degradation in Technic as I attempt to fix the problems we have, without the possibility of using any new services to assist with that.

Additionally, several communication attempts from Jon (creator of The 1.12.2 Pack, The 1.710 Pack, and creator of the official Technic modpacks Hexxit II, Tekkit 2, and most recently, Tekkit SMP) about our new official modpacks (splitting costs on modpack artwork, for example) were met with complete silence from KakerMix, despite several attempts, some of which I can personally attest to.

From my own side, I have recently attempted to enable DNSSEC on technicpack.net, and since I have no access to the domain itself, I sent KakerMix an email with a request to do the necessary changes on the domain registrar, which, again, was met with complete silence.

If, like me, you are invested in Technic, and you want to see it become better and better, instead of decaying over the years, then I suggest that you find some way to take action, and perhaps reach out.

Thank you for your time.

EDIT: KakerMix has reached out to fix the DNSSEC situation, but none of the other concerns were addressed.

It's a shame to hear you're having trouble. I discovered Technic when I was like 8 years old and I've been using it for years now. I hope this gets resolved soon.
