Family History Tech: Storied

Family history research has been a popular hobby for generations, but it has typically been limited to tracing blood relationships and building a family tree. The new player in the family history space, Storied, is changing that by introducing new technology and functionality that goes beyond traditional family tree building.

What is Storied and What Does it Offer?

Storied is a family history platform that focuses on tying historical records to stories and allows for collaboration among family members. It combines the traditional aspects of genealogy research with modern technology to create a unique and dynamic experience for users.

One of the most exciting features of Storied is its ability to include relationships that are not strictly blood and traditional family style. Additionally, rather than simply listing dates and names, Storied connects the dots between a person's life events and the historical records that document them all with the purpose to create stories. This cohesive approach fosters a rich, immersive experience for users and provides a more complete picture of their family's history.

In addition to connecting historical records to individual family members, Storied also offers robust collaboration features. Family members can share stories, photos, and other historical records with one another, making it easier than ever to work together on family history research. This collaborative aspect of Storied sets it apart from other genealogy platforms and provides a unique opportunity for families to come together and build a collective understanding of their shared history.

Beyond Blood Relationships:

Storied sets itself apart from traditional genealogy platforms by going beyond blood relationships in the family tree. While blood relationships are important, Storied recognizes that families are made up of much more than just biological connections. The platform allows users to create connections between family members based on relationships such as marriage, adoption, and foster care, as well as non-traditional relationships like chosen family and close friends. This is only possible because of the unique technology that they built upon.

This level of inclusiveness and recognition of the many forms of the family is a major step forward in the world of family history research and helps to create a more accurate and complete picture of a person's family connections. It also allows users to acknowledge and celebrate the important relationships in their lives, regardless of whether they are blood-related.

Give Storied A Try

Storied is revolutionizing the world of family history research by bringing new technology and functionality to the table, and many of it's features are completely free. Additionally, most of the paid features come with a free trial to allow you to "try before you buy" if you choose to increase your skills in genealogy.

With its focus on connecting historical records to stories and allowing for collaboration among family members, Storied offers a unique and dynamic experience for users. Its inclusive approach to family relationships, going beyond blood relationships in the family tree, sets it apart from other genealogy platforms and provides a more complete picture of a person's family history.

Whether you're a seasoned genealogist, just getting started with your family history research, or a techy interested in what's new, Storied is a platform that you won't want to miss. With its cutting-edge technology, inclusive approach to family relationships and collaborative features, it's the future of family history research.
