Better Than FLAOT Version 1.37.01

created by Jamella on Minecraft 1.7.10

Because it's Better With Grag.

We've tried our best to turn minecraft into a mix of factorio (Gregtech 6 & Techguns & Apocalypse) with magic (TC4 + Addons & Botania), exploration (HEE, Netherlicious, FWG) and a sense of progression (Thaumcraft and Botania are intertwined together and are both softlocked behind different GT6 stages) with extensive GT and cross-mod interaction and backports, both custom (Nutrition, Serene Seasons, SoL Carrot edition, Qwertech+ and many more) and publicly available (Netherlicious, Et Futurum Requiem, Village Names) and heavy inspiration from BTW and TFC.

Survive progressively harder invasions with diverse new mobs with improved AI, capable of blowing your base's walls to get you, eat your livestock or raid your orchard if left unguarded. Build a large, complex factory and use your discoveries and progress through technology and magic and defend yourself against the invading hordes. Reinforce your defense perimeter and make it durable enough to withstand relentless attacks, or get ready for the world to knock down your doors with everything at its disposal.

The modpack is tailored around the Fun World Gen: Sky Dimension (Vanilla+Mods) Worldgen option, but can be played with any worldgen.

Includes:

A questbook to explain in detail the quest progression from stone age to nuclear fusion, Gregtech 6's game mechanics and pack-specific mods and game overhauls.
Extensively scripted GT6/cross-mod interaction to spice up the game to make it more fun and add some structure to the entire pack ( >10 K lines of scripts spanning tens of different mods!)
Custom Omniocular code for GT6's crucible and multiblock crucible to gauge temperature in real time and quantity/melting points of the processed items through WAILA.
A slew of custom mods, resourcepacks and updates.
An external guide for the pack, with various useful tips and tricks

Special thanks to:

Canis_Artorus creator of gregorious Hexii Artorus, and his script crew. I tweaked the hell out of your scripts to suit my liking and different mods, but they were an incredibly good base.

Makamom/Dadji for singlehandedly making a good chunk of the custom mods and fixes in the modpack.

Yoggers Poggers The OG gregblock lutum author that got me into GT6, shitposter extraordinaire and massive pain in the ass.

Zyin055 for "Symbiotic Botania and Thaumcraft" script, also edited for the pack.

KryptonCaptain for the entirety of his body of work with TC forks, addons, resourcepacks and what have you!

The extremely long list of all the people who collaborated for custom mods & resourcepacks, Zerrens and all the others.

FAQ:

This is complicated, where can I learn more about GT6?

The vast majority of people are more accustomed to GT5(U) instead of GT6: a lot of things have changed in the transition, so it's natural to feel a bit (or more than a bit!) overwhelmed, but we're here to help. Here's some good tips, updated guides and charts on how to get started on gregtech 6:

Introduction

Ore Processing

Smelting

Machines and configurations

If you're a longtime GT fan, it's gonna be a suprisingly similar, but also radically different game from what you played before.

Are you just learning the ropes of Gregtech 6?

Never fear, the questbook will ease you in the earlygame and guide you through the vast majority of the pack's and gregtech 6's new mechanics. Make no mistake, GT6's progression has not been tweaked! It's so well polished that interfering with it would be unnecessary, instead all other mods revolve around GT6's natural progression. Remember to check the questbook when you're confused and need pointers, it's a very useful supplement that tries to explain everything in detail, especially with particular alloys and machine crafting.

A boon for the novice GT6 player!

Technical Tips

First and foremost, if you're not doing it already, use these optimized JVM Args:

-d64 -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=80 -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:+UseStringDeduplication -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+UseCodeCacheFlushing -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4 -Detfuturum.hideSnapshotWarning=true

They're very good general purpose java arguments for 1.7 that will enhance your gayming experience. Set GCThreads to whatever is your real # of cores, but for most people 4 will work fine.

The pack runs perfectly fine with 4 GB allocated and will run on literal toasters (t. toaster haver)
