Before starting the pack for the first time, ensure these few things are true:
- You are not on a Mac, or if you are, you are running a Windows partition
- You have Java 7 Update 67 or a previous version installed
- You do not have Java 8 installed (installing Java will not uninstall other versions)
- Your version of Java is 64bit
- You have at least 3-4GB of RAM allocated (ideally 5-6GB); alter this by clicking the gear icon in the launcher; if 1GB is the only option, refer to the previous point
- You're ready for fun! Woo!
The first startup will take longer than normal since the game is generating many large config files and such. Hang in there and be patient. Your computer may register that the game is not responding - this is normal, just wait and it will start Minecraft eventually.
