Background
Iskall85's Vault Hunters modpack has become a staple of excellence in the Minecraft modding community over the past few years, now in it's 3rd iteration. However, there are a couple of choices that the developers have made that the community has been somewhat split on:
- The removal of "Oh The Biomes You'll Go" mod from the 3rd edition. Iskall85 polled his chat at one point to get a general feeling about these types of mods in the pack and the results were fairly split (with about 60% being against keeping them in the pack). Terralith was added in to help with adding variety to the biomes, but it doesn't offer as much variety for resources since it uses only Vanilla blocks.
- The lack of built-in support for shaders. Iskall85 has told the streamers of his pack to avoid using them in this 1.18 version due to some compatibility issues. However, the choice to use these despite a few glitches has been expressed by plenty of those in the community. They can easily be disabled in situations like vault runs where they might cause issues all while retaining the ability to enjoy them while in the largely vanilla overworld, for activities such as base building or exploring.
This Modpack
To address the minor shortcomings listed above, this modpack adds the following to the Vault Hunters experience:
- Oh The Biomes You'll Go (and support for it in the Macaw mods), which was formerly included in 2nd edition
- Oculus and Rubidium (for shaders and performance)
