Can somebody help me with setting up a 3.1.2 version of voltz.
My friends and I is play 2.0.4 but we cant pump items or liquids around?

You are right! It needs to be updated to a new reccommended version!

The modpack would be much better if they could add Thaumcraft Ars Magica 2.

Would never happen. Try Hexx Reloaded for that sort of thing. Voltz is about Tech warfare
voltz is about science and tech, not magic.
There is a problem with the server download...
It is missing two files:
http://files.minecraftforge.net/fmllibs/bcprov-jdk15on-148.jar.stash
http://files.minecraftforge.net/fmllibs/scala-library.jar.stash
It is not able to find them, cause they have been renamed..
Download them, rename them (remove ".stash") and put them in the "lib" folder, fixed.

when will the newer versions like 3.0.0 become recommended? is there anything I can do to stop them from crashing when I launch them?

Those versions were abandoned. They are working on a 1.7.10 version which will hopefully be here soon :)
I cant get the voltz modpack on the launcher. help!
Search Voltz in the search bar. For some reason its not automatically there any more
When I try to start a server for myself and it comes up with the Command Prompt, it says "Press any key to continue" and when I do, it just stops and closes. Help?
What error are you getting? Its likely the server is missing files from the lib folder. Just grab the missing files from your clientside install of voltz.
OK here I go... If your client is crashing at launch what you need to do is :
Step 1 : Goto http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.6.4.html
Step 2 : Download the Universal 1.6.4 - 9.11.1.1345 jar file
Step 3 : Rename downloaded file to modpack.jar
Step 4 : Goto your \modpacks\voltz\bin folder where ever you installed it
Step 5 : Replace the modpack.jar file with the one you have just downloaded and renamed
and there you have it... worked for me. Plz leave a comment if you need help.

Worked for me too!! Thanks! You just forgot to tell that this fix is for the problem to open the modpack version 3.1.2 .
Time to make a new Voltz....
Wonder who's going to do it....
