YaoPack X updated to version 2.0
Presenting: YaoPack X 2.0 - A major overhaul and rework of the whole modpack!
It became clear to me that the initial version of Yao Pack X didn't quite hit the mark for most people, so I went back to the drawing board and have reworked much of the progression and gameplay to make it more fun and interesting to play. Here's what's changed:
* GregTech is no more! While it's true that some people did enjoy the challenge and mechanics added by GregTech, its clear that for most people this isn't really the case. GregTech has therefore been removed in turn for more traditional progression used in my other modpacks.
* World generation has been completely overhauled and is now more varied, content rich and less prone to bugs (famous last words). There are no longer large cities scattered about, but other structures have taken their place which are more detailed and interesting to explore!
* Tons and tons of new mods have been added including Ice & Fire, Alex Caves, Distant Horizons (with shader support), Re-Avaratia, Goblin Traders, Dragon Mounts, Expanded Ecosphere, Alex's Mobs, Intergrated Dungeons & Structures, Quark and many more!
* Weather2 has been completely re-tweaked to make storms such as tornados, hurricanes, water spouts and sand storms much more common. Instead of a storm every other week you'll now get to experience deadly storms nearly every day!
* Items are now stored on your dead corpse when you die indefinitely until you pick them up. This technically makes things easier, but you of course still need to get back to where you were to retrieve your stuff.
* New resource packs and many tweaks to various settings for improved visuals and performance!
Overall, this is a huge step up for Yao Pack X and I highly recommend that you give it a try!
If you didn't like it before, I think you will now. And if you did, I think you'll enjoy 2.0 even more!
(Note: This version changes core mods and world generation, so your existing worlds may not be compatible with this version. Make backups before updating!)
Thank you for playing Yao Pack X!
