How do i get botania started? i believe I need floral fertilizer or thaumomorphic botanist essense, but i have no idea how to get them

Actually, most of the quests to get to the essence quest actually require botania to do
To get started in Botania just go and scout. A large portion of the scouting places have mystical flowers. You can also go to the paranormalist tab in the quest book and complete three of the tasks on the right. I recommend doing the Invisibility, Breaking and Entering, and Distraction as these are able to be done with researching and are cheap. After you completed them, you will have access to locations of where each flower can be found. These are limited so you should consider making more via Botanist Essence.
Are there any mod packs like this without the restrictions

Has the issue of copper being virtually impossible to find been fixed yet? I gave up on this modpack after spending hours digging around and not finding what I needed. Shame to see such a silly thing ruining a mostly great modpack.

copper being a required material to advance and being super rare makes this a very frustrating modpack. Not fun, frustrating. Make copper rarer than Silver but not rarer than diamonds. I eventually had to use all my reputation to keep getting seeds until I got a copper ore berry bush which I then had to grow for 36 hours to get enough copper to make 1 copper pick axe. Again, not fun, just annoying. Eventually I just went into creative mode and gave myself a stack or copper ore berries to cut out the wait time.
Copper might be rare but not "impossible to find" rare. I found it most effective to mine in caves and near bedrock. This will help you find 90% of the ores you will need to progress.
Copper is not the only copper level mining material, you guys are being too narrow in your approach to solving problems, a few good copper level materials, ghost wood, promethium, both of which are not that hard to obtain. check out this link for tips on mining in blightfall http://wiki.technicpack.net/Mining_in_Blightfall
"Not that hard" is an understatement. I spent /hours/ without finding enough copper or promethium to make a pickaxe. I had no idea that "Where to Mine" had such detailed information (I'd already looked up what depths the ores appear at and whatnot elsewhere). I wish it'd have been made a bit clearer that the book is essentially required your first time through, but I appreciate the helpful tip!

Everytime Minecraft opens, it goes into a little box and into the bottom left corner of the screen. This isn't letting me play the map/pack, and it's really annoying. I really want to play it, but it doesnt even load right. Please help, ~Jake
As far as I have heard, this update has had a bunch of downloading and launching problems with it so just be patient and experiment with things. If you find the solution, post it on here so as to help other people with similar problems. Good Luck!!
I keep having a problem, everytime the game laucnhes, it goes into a small box to the bottom left corner of the screen. I've tried to do my research on it, but so far uninstalling it and re-installing it has no luck. I really want to play the map, but It isn't working. Please help ~Jake
So... how did they make minecraft create their custom map, when making a new world, instead of just creating a randomly generated world?
that would be the "LOCK DOWN" mod, it controls what map the game uses when creating new games
Have 2 thaumcraft questions. 1, can you scan items more than once? i.e, can i scan a block of grass again after the first time? and 2, where do you find rotten flesh in this map for the straw golem? as far as i know, zombies dont spawn.

zombies don't spawn in blighted biomes, they do spawn from carved obsidian pillars and stone hedges, from zombie spawner dungeons, and in biomes which have been cleaned and are back to their original biome.
You can't scan items again. There is a zombie and skeleton spawners to the southeast of the redwood city past the village.
Ty, is it just out in the open (or visible on the minimap?). Also, if you cant re-scan objects, what do you do if you run out of points.
It is in what looks like a burial mound that has 2 normal chests and a trapped chest at the bottom of the room. You would have to keep scanning other objects to get more points, just about every item you craft can be scanned.

I just find this mod called "Thaumcraft Extras" and it adds a tab to the book that has a ton of new spells, that would be a cool mod to add.
I see the "Ships Helm" from the Archimedes Ship mod, but I find myself unable to craft it using the standard recipe. NEI doesn't show the recipe as well, anybody else experiencing something similar?

Look for it in the Thaumcraft book, you have to research it.

Something I noticed is that after Better Rain was installed, whatever update that was, my sound for a lot of things has been cutting out. The chime when completing quests cuts out after a quarter of a second. Block breaking doesn't make sound. I checked that my headset is fully functional and sound is turned up. If anyone is also experiencing this or knows a fix, I'd appreciate it.
Was Taintthistle even meant as mana gen option or is it just a more portable Flux Scriber? I mean, a daybloom or hydrongeas just sitting there doing nothing seems to be more effective mana gen option then using this thing as anything but sponge.
Oh and does Jaded Amaranthus actually grows magic flowers? I'm kinda hesitant on making that one

Taintthistle I just use to clean up infusion areas. It stores a good amount of mana before you have to empty it. Jaded Amaranthus works great.
hey anyone know how to reset your blight fall quests for LAN players ?

If you go on cheat mode via the LAN settings and type /hqm edit you will get an OP Questbook that will let you rest quests. Dunno if it works on all players but it does work on the one using it.
How did you get it so you could repair things on the move with Tinker's Construct?

its already enabled, you put the tool in your inventorys 2 by 2 crafting window with 1 or more pieces of the repair material (what ever material the tool head is made of).
I mean how to do it when not using this modpack
other mod packs enable that feature or disable it at their own discretion
Hey I downloaded Blightfall and everything works but when I go to grow sugar cane in my biodome it dosent ever grow was wondering if its supposed to be like that or if there is a confict between the mods anyone know ?

sugar cane grows really slow in some places, don't know why but I've seen this happen in many locations. best thing todo is search around the coast of the swamp or request some more and plant it in different places around your base.

Having an issue with the quest book "supplier" the repeatables can't be completed more then 1x. Making it very hard to get a rubber tree.
I've had a great time with the mod pack so far. The cleaning of the world is a bit slow going but still good.

to force reset the repeatable quest you right click while holding shift or Ctrl.
What swat said only works with OP Questbooks in cheat mode but you need to have the required reputation in order for a supply quest to be reset. It will show a reputation bar in the quest and you need to be in the green area for the quest reset.

I'll have to see if it works for everyone on my server. Everyone has the bug.
I haven't been able to get mine to reset either, for the saplings or the seeds, and my reputation is currently at 117(Very Good). Couldn't seem to get the right click thing to work for me, it just makes the quest book go back a page for me. Any other ways of fixing this?
