You should increase the drop rate for using gravel in a sieve. It is annoying to get nothing when you sieve gravel.

I mean like make all the possible drops have a higher chance to drop.
I've actually already increased the drop rate higher than default. You're meant to do a whole stack of gravel at a time, not just a few here and there.
okay for me it had to be the dust not the gravel or sand like the quest book said lol

I see what happened. Back when I first wrote that quest I had manually added all of the ore gravel/sand/dust to the crucible, but later on ex nihilo added it natively so I took them out. Apparently ex nihilo only supports the dust. You should be using the dust anyways :) I'll fix the quest text.
Are you planning on putting rewards for the quests or just leave all them without rewards?

How do you get the molten seared brick? I've put it in the crucible but am stuck there please help.

I found a bug with casting from the crucible. if it stays at 1 mb and you reload the world, it will duplicate some of the ingots

I've noticed that bug too, in fact I even mention it in one of the quests. I've never had it duplicate ingots though. Unfortunately I've never been able to reliably reproduce it so that I could report the issue to the mod developer.

Oh, it could very well be duplicating ingots (or molten metal) and I just didn't notice it. Either way, please be sure to let me know if you find a consistent way to reproduce this.

This pack doesn't have Iron Chests on purpose. You're meant to use the thermal expansion strongboxes.

I've never tested it with 1 GB, but I do recommend at least 2 GB. Do you think you could try it and let us know?
it dosnt work with 1 GB of ram it loads for a while then it stops and in the console it says something about how java has ran out of memory

I haven't been getting Nickel, Platinum, nor Aluminum from the gravel when I sieve it. I know this was what occured in your last modpack and I don't know any other way of getting these items. Is there something I'm missing or is there another way to make Invar?

As you progress through the modpack, you will learn the ways of getting these more "special" resources. For example, broken nickel comes from sieving crushed nether rack.
Timeslice I need you're help. I built the squid farm like you said, but squids won't spawn. This, http://imgur.com/a/eabIL , shows the squid farm. And it is about 30 blocks down so I don't know what is wrong, please help.

You said that is 30 blocks down, but the horizon is black that low. What Y level is it at? Make sure it is between 45 and 63. Also, what biome did you build it in?
When I start it up he goes right back to the launcher.

Make sure you are using the proper memory settings in the Technic launcher. I recommend 2GB of memory and permgen of 256MB, at least.
It is set a 4GB, what is permgen?
Sorry for the late reply. Permgen is where java stores class definitions. Packs with a large number of mods need more of this. However the technic launcher already sets this to 256, which should be plenty for this pack. Try restarting your machine and then run only minecraft, see if you still have the same problem with this pack. If you do then I will need a copy of your logfile which should be located at %appdata%\.technic\modpacks\defiance-of-fate\logs\fml-client-latest.log

Also Timeslice. You need to make a server for this modpack because I want to do a multi-player of it with you because you are a purple cow. I don't what that means, but you are one.

Yo timeslice. My man. I have a problem. My saplings were fine before but now when ever I try to grow a tree, the sapling does nothing. I won't lie, to really test it, I went in GM1 and got 3 stacks of bonemeal, used it all on the sapling, and nothing happened... Halp. Plz. (P.S. I really think you should add Botania and Thaumcraft to the pack. Just a suggestion.)

Hey TImeslice. I have been playing the new pack, love it BTW, and I have 2 questions. 1.) Is there supposed to be no rewards to the quests? 2.) Could you please raise the percentage to get Broken Gold Ore from sieving gravel? I only ask because at 3%, I kid you not, I sieve like 5 stacks of gravel and only got 2 broken Gold Ore...

The first set has no rewards, except for one quest. The rest of the sets have rewards. That's some crappy luck, and you should have gotten better than that, but gold is supposed to be quite rare. You will find a better source soon.
If it makes you feel any better in my previous run it took me about 30 eggs to get my second chicken.

Sounds like it didn't download/install correctly. Delete the pack and re-install.
Parece que não download / instalar corretamente. Excluir o pacote e re-instalar.
