This mod-pack features a much more RPG like Minecraft set in a world full of magic, that got destroyed by exactly that. Explore a dark and dangerous brand new world, conquer and loot huge dungeons, learn any or all of the mystical arts to become a powerful wizard, thaumaturgy, witch or botanist. Block-physics and additional damage effects when fighting monsters, will make exploring and combat dangerous again.
In addition to that many mods have been added to allow you to build the structures of your dreams! With Chisel, micro-blocks and the ultimate art mod Davincing, only your imagination is the limit! You can use magic to build large-scale houses with more detail than ever before, yet pixel by pixel if you wish to.
This mod-pack is intended to give you back that feeling of when you first played Minecraft and everything was so vibrant and brand new. It will give you a world worth exploring, the tools to build a huge fortress to repel your enemies and incredibly strong monster to fight. In contrast to many other mod-packs this pack takes it slow, with lots of content to go through. You will not be buried under resources and items, instead you have to work hard for them. Even your first run through a cave is likely to kill you if you are not careful. Magic will not just be given to you, you must learn and understand the secrets behind it to fully utilize its power. Every mod in this pack has been fine-tuned and configured by hand to give you the best and most bug-free experience possible. Several mods have been created or modified (with permission) just for this mod-pack, that are not available in that form in any other pack out there. Craft your Minimap with a book + compass. You can also copy any atlas or combine it via crafting. See the Antique Atlas thread for details. Also I strongly suggest to install the Golrith's colored texture pack for Antique Atlas. This modpack uses the default biome ids for Thaumcraft, so there should be no editing necessary to use it.
Make sure to select world type New Dawn for the full experience! Server owners should set "level-type=new dawn" in the server.properties file.
Recommended texture pack: Ovo's Rustic Redemption 1.1.4 for MC 1.7.10
This modpack strongly depends on Optifine. If you experience chunk flickering, see the help page! Also make sure to set Dymanic Lights to fancy, so torches in your hand will illuminate dark caves and dungeons.
