Sons of Anarchy: Epidemic Version 1.0

January 17th, 2019: Fourty-three years before the apocalypse.

Everything started with the slaughter in South Korea and the conquest of the Korean peninsula and even half of China at the hands of the oppressive nation of North Korea. Tensions between Iran, Vietnam, and America had risen to a breaking point. The resulting war turned Asia into a warzone. It wasn't long before Russia and the European Union had gotten involved in this global conflict, which people had already started naming World War 3.

The rapid expansion of the Korean Empire was mostly due to one specific invention; the deadly, inhumane chemical known as Agent 9-Z, also known as Hydrotoxdistrone. This chemical was considered an utter aberration by many other nations due to its ungodly effects on bodies, causing the corpses of the fallen to violently twitch and thrash on the ground as the gas spread further into enemy lines. This gas eventually led to the very undoing of the world as we knew it. A fungus of the genus Ophiocordyceps, native to China, is known as the "zombie ant fungus." This unique fungus requires the body of an ant to complete its life cycle, possessing the corpse of deceased carpenter ants and using them for whatever task it may require. As the Korean vanguard pressed further into China, the usage of Agent 9-Z proved to be the death of both sides. Agent 9-Z, when exposed to the Ophiocordyceps fungus, created a foul, detrimental type of fungi-disease known as Ophiotoxdistrone. The spores of this corrupted fungus spread quickly throughout the empire of Korea and the rest of Asia, rapidly wiping out big swaths of Asia's population, and spreading to other continents effortlessly. The fungus emits a horrendous man-made gas that has killed millions and has proved many times to be volatile to any mammal or insect on the planet. This new abomination has as an added and monstrous effect reanimation of the dead, turning corpses into re-living, rotting sins of nature, with one primitive task; to feed on fresh meat.
