You click Launcher options in the right top corner. Java settings then change 1gb to 2gb.

A mod that I found to be very rewarding to have with tinkers construct is the Metallurgy mod. Now, I don't know whether or not this is a feasible addition, but if it is I would recommend adding that mod.

There's no stable TD release right now, they're all release candidates and putting the current versions available on a live server would create far more issues than rewards. TD is penned for inclusion as soon as a stable release is posted. If you have any other suggestions posting on the forum for proper discussion is a more helpful way for us :)

You have to allocate at least 2GB to the launcher in launcher settings.

MFFS caused crashing in testing.
Hey, it won't let me play. it opens, but stays on the "MOJANG" screen. is this fixable?

You have to wait patiently for it to load.
Had this same problem, no matter how long you wait it doesn't open right? Make sure you have Java 7 and 2 Gigs of ram allocated. If that doesn't work, your computer just needs to be upgraded or buy a new one cause if it can't run minecraft, you are out of date.
